‘Abbott & Costello’, my music video directed by Rose Hendry, was screened at Cannes Lions (the advertising wing of Cannes Film Festival) earlier this year as part of the VOW (The Voice of A Woman) Made By Her Showcase, and with this film Rose has been shortlisted for the VOW Awards 2019. Huge congratulations to Rose on this amazing achievement. If you haven’t seen our music video yet, take a look/listen! The music also features the talents of my band MY IRIS (with Chris Montague, Ross Stanley and James Maddren).

Jazz saxophonist TRISH CLOWES tells Chris Searle why she and her band My Iris are so open to experiment
Very happy to announce, with the support of Arts Council England, that MY IRIS will be hosting a workshop 6.30-7.15pm on May 1st at the Gateway, ahead of our performance at 7.45pm. Please see details below:
Tomorrow sees the premiere of my Sinfonietta Short ‘Hero’ for solo bass, commissioned by the London Sinfonietta to be performed by Enno Senft. I’m really looking forward to hearing Enno perform the piece (at the World Premiere Wednesdays series) – he’s such an outrageous bass player!
In other news, today marks the 1 month countdown to the release of the new MY IRIS album ‘Ninety Degrees Gravity’… we’ve already had some great feedback (“Stunning” – Jazzwise, “Listen, and then listen again” – Fiona Talkington, “one of the most outstanding UK jazz albums to be released this year” – Marlbank) and our music video by director Rose Hendry will be released very very soon… We’ve also just added the Rochester International Jazz Festival (USA) to our tour dates…
I recently had the fun task of reworking themes/ideas from loads of brilliant young minds for a commission from the London Sinfonietta’s ‘Sound Out’ project. The premiere is March 16th at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London at 4pm – written for youth orchestra & soloists. Loads of other fab new music in the programme too.
