Listen again to London Jazz Festival orchestral concert

On Tuesday 18th November I performed with my quintet and the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. It was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and you can listen again for several weeks.

Workshop of BBC commission

Last week I was lucky enough to be able to workshop the first draft of my BBC commission for my band and the BBC Concert Orchestra… With conductor Clark Rundell guiding me through, giving me invaluable insights! Here are a few photos:

The piece is called ‘The Fox, The Parakeet & The Chestnut’ and is dedicated to the inhabitants of Blythe Hill Fields.

28th May, 7.30pm…

8pm – a surprise start to the evening!

Next up some music by Trish Clowes, Luciano Berio & Chris Mayo… with a visit to a certain place of residence… Jazzboe also makes an appearance 🙂IMG_2862






After some refreshments we take a trip through Tangent’s set where we might hear some music from Trish’s 3rd album – due out in the Autumn…sbury







… Tangent will be performing as quartet: Trish Clowes/Chris Montague/Calum Gourlay/James Maddren

And onwards to the band Strobes (Dan Nicholls/Chris Sharkey/Dave Smith)…


on the 29th… once again get yourselves down to the Village Underground for 7.30pm

…then the fantastic girls of Juice vocal ensemble open up the evening…









…singing music written by themselves and wonderful people like Anna Meredith

and Luke Styles… who has written ‘The Girls Who Wished to Marry Stars’ for Juice and Tangent
