I am excited to announce my next concert at Wigmore Hall, on Wednesday March 1st 2023! Joining me are these fantastic musicians… Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian (voice, harp), Mandhira de Saram (violin), Louise McMonagle (cello), Ross Stanley (piano), Chris Montague (guitar) and Joel Barford (drums). The programme will be an exploration of all kinds of music, from Jimi Hendrix to Joe Harriott, Henry Purcell, The Beatles, John Dowland, Herbert Howells, as well as Cevanne’s ‘Muted Lines’ (commissioned by me, on the first My Iris album, and now on her latest orchestral album), and some music by myself and Ross (his being a dedication to the great pianist John Taylor). Tickets available here.
In other news, ‘A View with a Room’ made it to no. 9 in Jazzwise’s Best Jazz Albums of 2022. Very happy about this! If you don’t have a copy yet, here’s the link to the album on Greenleaf Music’s Bandcamp.
Ross Stanley & I had a very enjoyable collection of duo concerts over November, and some of that material will feature in the Wigmore Hall concert in March. More things to come from us soon… (photo below by Mike Boursnell, in Cambridge).
